Exporting Bank Transactions

Exporting Bank Transactions

How to Export

  1. Open the Data Exchange Center from the Business menu
  2. Click Export on the Bank Transactions card
  3. Select the Bank Account you want to export transactions for. This dropdown lists all bank-type accounts from your Chart of Accounts.
  4. The wizard displays the number of transactions available for the selected account
  5. Click Export to CSV and choose a save location

What Gets Exported

The CSV file includes one row per transaction for the selected bank account with the following columns:

ColumnDescription
Transaction DateThe date the transaction was recorded
DescriptionThe transaction description
ReferenceThe reference number (check number, confirmation code, etc.)
DebitThe debit amount, if applicable
CreditThe credit amount, if applicable
Offset AccountThe account code of the offsetting account
Payee NameThe payee or payer name, if recorded

Transactions are sorted by date in ascending order.

Selecting a Bank Account

The bank account dropdown shows all accounts in your Chart of Accounts that are classified as bank or cash accounts. You must select one account per export. If you need to export transactions for multiple bank accounts, run a separate export for each one.

Common Uses

  • Reconciliation — Export your bank transactions from AccuArk and compare them side-by-side with your bank statement in a spreadsheet to identify discrepancies
  • Accountant review — Share the exported CSV with your accountant or bookkeeper for period-end review
  • Backup — Keep periodic exports of your bank transactions as an additional backup of your financial data
  • Analysis — Open the export in Excel to filter, sort, and analyze your banking activity using pivot tables or formulas

Tips

  • Export before closing a period — It is good practice to export your bank transactions before closing an accounting period, giving you a snapshot of the data as it was at that point in time
  • Check the transaction count — The wizard shows how many transactions will be exported. If the count seems low, verify you have selected the correct bank account.
