How Do I Fix Import Errors?

How Do I Fix Import Errors?

Import errors are displayed in Step 3 (the validation preview) of the import wizard. Each row with a problem is marked with an Error status and includes a description of what went wrong.

Common Errors and Fixes

Missing required field — A required column is empty for that row. Open your CSV file and fill in the missing value. For example, inventory items require at minimum an item name and SKU.

Lookup not found — The value in your file does not match any existing record in AccuArk. This commonly happens with category names, customer names, or vendor names. Check for typos, extra spaces, or capitalization differences. If the referenced record genuinely does not exist yet, create it in AccuArk first and then re-import.

Invalid number — A field that expects a numeric value contains text, currency symbols, or an unsupported format. Remove dollar signs, percentage symbols, or letters from numeric fields. Use a plain number format (e.g., 29.99 instead of $29.99).

Duplicate key — Two or more rows in your file share the same match key value (such as the same SKU). Resolve the duplicate in your CSV so each key is unique.

How to Fix Errors

You have three options when errors appear:

  1. Fix the CSV file and re-import — Cancel the current import, correct the errors in your spreadsheet, save the file, and start the import again. This is the best approach for large numbers of errors.
  2. Fix the underlying data in AccuArk — If the errors are caused by missing lookup values (such as a category or customer that does not exist), create those records in AccuArk first, then re-import your file.
  3. Proceed with valid rows only — Click Import to process only the rows that passed validation. Rows with errors are automatically skipped. This is useful if you have a small number of errors that you plan to fix later.

After the Import

If any rows failed during the import, the summary screen offers an Export Error Report button. This saves a CSV file containing only the failed rows along with the error details for each one. You can fix those rows and re-import just that file.

Errors never affect valid rows. Every row that passes validation is imported successfully, regardless of how many other rows have errors.
