FAQ — How Do I Create Buy-One-Get-One Promotions?
AccuArk supports BOGO (Buy One Get One) and similar quantity-based promotions through the Promotional Pricing system on the Pricing tab.
Setting Up a BOGO Free Deal
To create a "Buy 1 Get 1 Free" promotion:
- Open the item in the Inventory Item form
- Click the Pricing tab
- Click Add Promotion (or the Pricing button)
- Configure the fields:
| Field | Value | Explanation |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing Name | Buy 1 Get 1 Free | A descriptive name for reference |
| Discount Type | Percent Off | We will use 50% off the pair |
| Discount Amount | 50 | 50% off the total for 2 items = one free |
| Quantity From | 2 | Minimum 2 items to trigger |
| Quantity To | 2 | Maximum 2 items per trigger |
| Allow Multiple Times | Checked | So buying 4 applies it twice (2 free items) |
| Is Bundle | Checked | Discount applies to the group total, not per unit |
| Customer Type | 0 (All) | Available to all customers |
| Start Date | Your promotion start date | When the deal begins |
| End Date | Your promotion end date | When the deal ends |
| Enabled | Checked | Turn on the promotion |
- Click Save
How It Works at the POS
- Customer adds 2 of the item to the sale
- AccuArk automatically applies 50% off the pair (effectively making one free)

Testing Your Promotion
After creating the promotion:
- Click Test Promotional Pricing on the Pricing tab
- Enter Quantity = 2 (or whatever your threshold is)
- Verify the final price and discount match your expectations
- Test with quantities below and above the threshold to confirm boundaries
Tips
- Use the Allow Multiple Times checkbox to control whether the deal stacks (e.g., buy 4 get 2 free)
- Set date ranges to limit seasonal promotions
- Use Customer Type to restrict BOGO to specific customer groups (e.g., loyalty members only)
- The promotion applies automatically — cashiers do not need to do anything special
