FAQ: What is the difference between Standard and Compact POS?

What is the difference between Standard and Compact POS?

AccuArk offers two POS screen layouts:

Standard POS — Full-featured layout with all buttons visible on screen. Best for desktop monitors and experienced staff.

Compact POS — Streamlined, modern layout with a touch-friendly button grid. Best for touch screens, tablets, and smaller displays. Less-used features are grouped under a "More" menu.

Both screens have the same functionality — no features are missing in either mode. The only difference is how buttons and controls are organized.

To switch between modes, go to Machine Settings → POS Settings → Screen Behavior and check or uncheck "Use Compact POS Screen". Restart the POS for the change to take effect.

For full details, see Choosing Between Standard and Compact POS Screens in the Point Of Sale category.
