FAQ: Can different machines accept different payment methods?

FAQ: Can different machines accept different payment methods?

Quick Answer

Yes. Each POS machine has independent payment method settings. You can enable or disable any combination of payment methods per machine.

Example

  • Register 1 (Full Service): Cash, Credit, Debit, Check, Apple Pay, Google Pay — all enabled
  • Register 2 (Express Lane): Cash and Credit only — everything else disabled
  • Register 3 (Self-Checkout): Credit, Debit, Apple Pay, Google Pay — no cash

How to Configure

  1. Open Machine Configuration for the target machine
  2. Go to the Payments & Accounts section
  3. Check or uncheck each payment method as needed
  4. Click Save

Digital Payment Methods

ACH, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Buy Now Pay Later require a compatible payment processor. If your processor does not support a digital method, enabling the checkbox on the machine will have no effect.
