FAQ: How do I enable tips or surcharges at a location?

Enabling Tips

1. Open the location (Program → Locations → double-click)
2. Click the Payment Processing tab
3. Check "Enable Tips"
4. Set your tip presets (default: 15%, 18%, 20%, 25%)
5. Optionally check "Allow Custom Tip" to let customers enter their own amount
6. Click Save & Close

After enabling, tip prompts appear during card payment at all POS machines in this location.

Enabling Surcharges

1. On the same Payment Processing tab
2. Check "Enable Surcharge"
3. Set the surcharge percentage (0–4%, in 0.25% increments)
4. Enter the surcharge label (e.g., "Card Processing Fee" — this appears on the receipt)
5. Click Save & Close

Prerequisites

• A global payment processor must be configured with "Allow Location Override" enabled
• If the Payment Processing tab shows a disabled message, contact your administrator to enable location overrides in Settings → Payment Processing
