FAQ: I hit my machine limit — what can I do?

FAQ: I hit my machine limit — what can I do?

Quick Answer

When you see "Subscription capacity reached", you have three options:

Option 1: Deactivate Unused Machines

If you have machines that are not currently in use (old registers, seasonal terminals), deactivate them to free up slots:

  1. Go to Program → Machines
  2. Toggle Show Inactive to see all machines
  3. Select the machine you no longer need
  4. Click Disable
  5. The freed slot can now be used for a new machine anywhere

Option 2: Purchase Extra Machine Add-Ons

Extra Machine add-ons expand your capacity with a shared pool of machines:

  • Extra machines can be assigned to any location
  • They are flexible — deploy them where you need extra capacity
  • Example: Buy 2 extra machines and assign both to your busiest store

Option 3: Upgrade Your Base Plan

If you consistently need more machines at every location, upgrade to a plan with a higher base machines-per-location count.

Understanding the Error Message

The error message tells you exactly what is happening:

  • "This location already has X active machine(s), which is the maximum of Y allowed by your plan." — base capacity at this location is full
  • "All Z add-on machine slot(s) are in use across your locations." — the shared add-on pool is also exhausted
