FAQ: How do I move a machine to a different location?

Quick Answer

1. Open Program → Machine Configuration (or Program → Machines → double-click the machine)
2. Change the Location dropdown to the new store
3. Click Save & Close

What Happens

• The system checks if the target location has room for another active machine
• If there is room, the move is saved immediately
• If the target location is at capacity, you are prompted to deactivate a machine there to make room
• The machine's available tax rates update to match the new location — you may need to select a new default tax rate

Capacity Check

Moving a machine vacates a slot at the origin location and requires a slot at the destination. The system excludes the machine being moved when calculating capacity, so a simple 1-for-1 swap between locations always works.

If the destination has no room:

1. You are asked "Would you like to deactivate a machine at the target location to make room?"
2. Click Yes to open the machine list and deactivate a machine
3. After deactivating, the capacity is re-checked
4. If there is now room, the move proceeds
