FAQ: What happens when I disable a location?

FAQ: What happens when I disable a location?

Quick Answer

When you disable a location:

  1. All active machines at the location are automatically deactivated
  2. Machine hardware fingerprints are cleared — machines are unbound from their physical computers
  3. No new transactions can be created at the location
  4. The location still counts toward your subscription's location limit

Important Details

  • Disabling is not the same as deleting. The location and all its data remain in the system.
  • Disabled machines free up machine subscription slots.
  • Disabled locations do NOT free up location subscription slots.
  • You can re-enable the location later and selectively reactivate its machines.

Reversal

To re-enable a disabled location:

  1. Open the location for editing
  2. Uncheck the "Disabled" checkbox
  3. Click Save & Close
  4. Select which machines to reactivate from the dialog that appears
  5. Each machine is checked against subscription capacity before activation
