Machine Settings: POS Screen Behavior and Display Options
The POS Settings area of the General tab controls how the POS screen looks and behaves during sales.
POS Screen Type
| Setting | Description |

| Use Compact POS Screen | When checked, the POS uses the compact touch-friendly layout (FrmPointOfSaleCompact) instead of the standard full layout. Best for small touchscreens (1024×630px optimized). |
Screen Background Color
Click the colored button to open a color picker and choose a custom background color for the POS screen. This helps visually distinguish different machines (e.g., different color per register).
Item Grid Display Columns
These checkboxes control which columns appear in the POS sale grid:

| Show Item Sub-Total | — | Displays the subtotal (quantity × price) for each line |

Item Image Preview
| Setting | Description |

| Enable Image Preview | When checked, a larger product image preview panel appears on the POS screen when an item is selected |
Scanner and Sound Settings
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Scanner Auto-Add Mode | When checked, scanning a barcode immediately adds the item to the sale (quantity 1). When unchecked, scanning fills the search box but waits for confirmation. |
| Enable Sound Feedback | When checked, the POS plays sound effects for actions like adding items, completing sales, and errors |
Enable Browsing for Items
When checked, a Browse button appears on the POS screen that lets cashiers browse inventory categories and select items visually, instead of searching by name or scanning.
Gas Station Mode

| Enable Gas Pumps Screen | When checked, a gas pump management panel appears on the POS screen for fuel station operations |
| Allow Item Purchase Without Pump Select | When checked, cashiers can ring up non-fuel items without first selecting a pump |
Quantity and Amount Shortcut Buttons
You can define up to 6 quantity shortcuts and 6 amount shortcuts. These appear as quick-tap buttons on the POS screen:
Quantity Shortcuts (e.g., 1.00, 2.00, 5.00, 10.00, 12.00, 24.00):
- Used for quickly setting item quantities without typing
Amount Shortcuts (e.g., 1.00, 5.00, 10.00, 20.00, 50.00, 100.00):
- Used for quickly entering payment amounts during cash transactions
Enter the values in the six text fields under each section. Values are stored as decimals.
Sales Policy
A free-text field where you can enter a sales policy message specific to this machine. This can be printed on receipts.
