My POS screen is frozen — what do I do?
If the POS screen buttons are unresponsive or the screen appears frozen:
Step 1: Try the Emergency UI Restore
- Press Ctrl+Alt+R on your keyboard
- This re-enables all buttons and clears any stuck processing states
Step 2: Restart the POS Screen
- If Ctrl+Alt+R doesn't work, go to the Action Menu (bottom-left of the status bar) → Restart POS Screen
- The POS reloads from scratch
- Any unsaved sale will be lost, but all saved transactions are safe
Step 3: Close and Reopen
- If the Action Menu is also unresponsive, close the POS window entirely and reopen it from the main menu
The most common causes of freezing:
- A payment processor timeout (the terminal didn't respond)
- A network interruption during a transaction
- A processing error that left the UI in a locked state
