Machine Settings: Payment Methods Configuration

The Payments & Accounts → Payment Methods subtab controls which payment methods are available on the POS screen and how they behave.

Basic Payment Methods

Checkbox Payment Method Description
Enable Cash Payments Cash Accept bills and coins
Enable Debit Payments Debit Card Accept debit card payments
Enable Credit Payments Credit Card Accept credit card payments
Enable Other Payments Other Methods Enables the expanded payment options below

Other Payment Methods

When "Enable Other Payments" is checked, you can further enable:

Enable Check Payments Personal and business checks
Enable Bank Wire Transfer Payments Bank-to-bank transfers
Enable Online Payments PayPal, Venmo, or other online services
Enable Other/Misc Payments Gift cards, store credit, and other methods

Digital Wallet and Advanced Payments

Enable ACH Payments Electronic bank transfer Stripe
Enable Apple Pay Apple digital wallet Stripe or Worldpay
Enable Google Pay Google digital wallet Stripe or Worldpay

Note: A note label below these settings shows which payment processor supports the selected digital methods. If no compatible processor is configured, these methods will not function.

Split Payment Settings

Setting Description Default
Allow Split Payments Lets customers pay with multiple methods Off
Max Payments Per Invoice Maximum number of payment entries allowed 5
Min Amount Per Payment Minimum dollar amount for each split payment $1.00
Allow Same Method Twice Whether a customer can use the same payment method more than once in a split Off

Additional Payment Settings

Setting Description
Require Customer Info with Credit Forces the cashier to attach a customer record before processing a credit card payment
Allow Refund to Different Payment Method Allows refunding to a method different from the original payment (e.g., refund a card payment as cash)
Enable Quick Add Enables the Quick Add feature which lets cashiers create new inventory items on the fly when an item is not found during a sale

Cash Drawer Auto-Open Settings

Configure which payment types automatically open the cash drawer:

Open Drawer on Cash After a cash payment
Open Drawer on Check After a check payment
Open Drawer on Credit After a credit card payment
Open Drawer on Debit After a debit card payment
Open Drawer on Online After an online payment
Open Drawer on Bank Transfer After a bank transfer
Open Drawer on Other After any other payment type

Tip: Most businesses only enable drawer opening for Cash and Check payments, since there's no physical exchange needed for card or digital payments.
