Machine Settings: POS Screen Behavior and Display Options
The POS Settings → Screen Behavior subtab controls how the POS screen looks and behaves.
General Behavior Settings

| Enable Browsing for Items | Shows the Browse Items button on the POS so staff can search and filter the catalog. If unchecked, staff can only add items by scanning or typing. | On — unless you want scan-only mode |

| Scanner Auto-Add Mode | When a barcode is scanned, the item is added automatically without requiring Enter or a click. | On for high-volume scanning environments |

Item Display on POS Screen
These settings control which columns appear in the items grid:

Tip: Turn off columns you don't need to give more screen space to the item description and price.
Visual Customization
| Setting | What It Does |

| POS Screen Background Color | Click the color button to choose a custom background color for the POS screen. Leave blank for the system default. |
Quantity and Amount Shortcuts
You can configure 6 quick-select buttons for quantities and 6 for amounts:
Quantity Shortcuts (default: 1, 5, 10, 20, 30, 40):
- These appear as buttons on the quantity entry pad
- Tap a button instead of typing the number
- Useful for common quantities (e.g., a dozen = 12)
Amount Shortcuts (default: 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100):
- These appear as buttons on amount entry dialogs
- Useful for open-price items or cash payment entry
Sales Policy
The Sales Policy text area lets you enter store-specific policies (like return rules or warranty information). This text may appear on printed receipts, depending on your receipt template configuration.
