POS Keyboard Shortcuts Reference

Keyboard shortcuts help you process sales faster without using the mouse. These work on both the Standard and Compact POS screens.

F1	—	Focus the Item Search box (clear and ready for input)
Ctrl+F	F2	Click the Search button
Ctrl+B	F3	Open the Browse Items catalog
Ctrl+G	F4	Open the Gas Pump screen
Ctrl+P	F5	Print the receipt
Ctrl+H	F6	Hold (pause) the current sale
Ctrl+U	F7	Unhold (resume) a held sale
Ctrl+X	F8	Cancel/void the current sale
Ctrl+R	F9	Process a refund
Ctrl+Shift+R	F10	Start a new invoice (clear screen)

Ctrl+C	F11	Process a cash payment
Ctrl+L	F12	Process a credit/debit card payment

Shortcut	Action
Escape	Cancel a payment in progress (during the "Processing" state)
Ctrl+Alt+R	Emergency UI restore (unlocks frozen buttons after an error)
Ctrl+Alt+N	Reset POS screen (clear invoice, requires confirmation)

Shortcuts only work when the corresponding button is visible and enabled
If a button is disabled (greyed out), its shortcut will not work
You can view the shortcuts list on the POS screen by going to Action Menu → Keyboard Shortcuts
F1 is especially useful — it clears the search box and positions your cursor for the next scan
Use F11 (Cash) and F12 (Card) for the fastest payment processing

The Compact POS uses the same shortcuts as the Standard POS. There are no additional or different shortcuts for the compact screen.

Most barcode scanners send keystrokes just like a keyboard. When the search box is focused:

The scanner types the barcode value
If Scanner Auto-Add Mode is enabled, the item is added automatically after the scan completes
If auto-add is off, the system waits for you to press Enter after the scan
