POS Machine Settings Overview
Each POS machine in AccuArk has its own configuration that controls how it behaves. The Machine Settings form is where administrators configure everything from payment methods to receipt printing to screen appearance.
How to Access Machine Settings
There are several ways to open Machine Settings:
- From the POS screen: Go to the Action Menu (bottom-left) → click POS Machine Settings
- From the main menu: Go to Program → POS Machine Settings
- During initial setup: When creating a new machine, the settings form opens automatically
Machine Settings Tabs
The settings form is organized into 5 main tabs:
| Tab | What It Controls |
|---|---|
| General | Machine name, location, tax rate, hardware details |
| POS Settings | Screen behavior, printing, customer display, gas pumps |
| Payments & Accounts | Payment methods, split payments, cash drawer, GL accounts |
| Balance | Current payment method balances (read-only) |
| Activity Log | POS activity logging configuration |

Important: Settings Are Per Machine
Every POS machine has its own independent settings. This means:
- Machine A can accept cash and credit cards, while Machine B accepts only cash
- Machine A can use the Standard POS screen, while Machine B uses the Compact POS
- Each machine can have different receipt settings, tax rates, and drawer configurations
This flexibility lets you configure each register for its specific role (e.g., a quick-checkout lane vs. a full-service counter).
Saving Changes
- After making changes, click Save at the bottom of the form
- An asterisk (*) in the title bar indicates unsaved changes
- Most changes require restarting the POS screen to take effect
