Understanding the Standard POS Screen Layout
The Standard POS screen is the full-featured Point of Sale interface. It displays all available tools and buttons on screen at once, making it ideal for desktop monitors and experienced users who want fast access to every feature.
Screen Sections
The Standard POS screen is divided into the following areas:
1. Item Search Bar (Top)
At the top of the screen, you will find the Item Search text box. This is where you:
- Scan barcodes — Point your barcode scanner at an item and the barcode is entered automatically
- Type an item ID, name, SKU, or model — Press Enter to search
- The system finds matching items and adds them to the sale
Tip: If multiple items match your search, a selection dialog appears so you can pick the correct one.
2. Action Buttons (Top Row)
Next to the search bar, you will see several buttons:
| Button | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Search | Searches for the item entered in the search bar |
| Browse Items | Opens a full catalog browser where you can filter by category and search items visually |
| Gas Pump | Opens the gas pump selection screen (only visible if gas pumps are enabled on this machine) |
| Price Check | Lets you look up an item's price without adding it to the sale |
3. Invoice Items Grid (Center)
