Important Note
The Get Machine Info button reads hardware information from the computer you are currently using, not from the machine record being edited. If you are configuring a remote machine from your office computer, the button will collect your office computer's details — not the register's.
To get accurate information for a specific register, run Get Machine Info from that physical workstation.
When to Use Machine Info
- Initial setup — automatically populate hardware details for a new machine
- Hardware replacement — update the hardware details after swapping a computer
- Support tickets — collect system specs to include in a ticket (processor, RAM, disk, OS version)
- Troubleshooting slow performance — check available RAM and disk space
- Asset tracking — keep hardware records accurate without manually typing specs
Printing Technical Details
To print a summary of the machine's information including hardware details, use Menu → Print Technical Details from the Machine Configuration form.
