Using Machine Info for Diagnostics

Using Machine Info for Diagnostics

The Get Machine Info button automatically collects detailed hardware and software information from the computer running AccuArk. This is useful for diagnostics, support tickets, and keeping hardware records up to date.

How to Use It

  1. Open Program → Machine Configuration
  2. Go to the General tab
  3. Scroll to the Hardware Details section
  4. Click the Get Machine Info button
  5. The system information is collected and placed into the Hardware Details text field

Important Note

The Get Machine Info button reads hardware information from the computer you are currently using, not from the machine record being edited. If you are configuring a remote machine from your office computer, the button will collect your office computer's details — not the register's.

To get accurate information for a specific register, run Get Machine Info from that physical workstation.

When to Use Machine Info

  • Initial setup — automatically populate hardware details for a new machine
  • Hardware replacement — update the hardware details after swapping a computer
  • Support tickets — collect system specs to include in a ticket (processor, RAM, disk, OS version)
  • Troubleshooting slow performance — check available RAM and disk space
  • Asset tracking — keep hardware records accurate without manually typing specs

Printing Technical Details

To print a summary of the machine's information including hardware details, use Menu → Print Technical Details from the Machine Configuration form.
